The location of the American flag pictured in the previous post is revealed here as flying over the Berkey Creamery. It's easy to miss all the little details.

Where is This Flag?

I've seen this American Flag many times but only recently turned my camera on it. It's easy to filter out the details in my daily environment. The camera helps me pay attention (as does a pencil and a blank index card for notes).

2010 -- Cold and the iPhone Camera

I've continued to experiment with the iPhone camera with mixed results. I suppose it was appropriate that just as I felt ready to brand the camera worthless a friend seny me a link to an NPR story called iPhone Squared. The remarkable images produced by Texas photographer Matt Nager with his iPhone were a perfect example (to me) of embracing the strengths and weaknesses of the iPhone camera.

So I started creating my own grids -- short visual stories of places and events. The one above depicts the walk from the East Parking deck to my office with the temperature hovering around 7F. The grids are the perfect creative spark to start off a new year.

I'll apologize for not posting more. No pictures from the Pennsylvania Farm Show this year because I am busy working to get the next issue of the magazine together. For those of you who don't already know I have been appointed the new editor of Penn State Agriculture magazine.
