Penn State Football

The range of assignments I undertake surprises people, especially through their filter of what agricultural sciences comprises.  This weekend I'll be at the Penn State - Temple game making photographs to use for some of our alumni materials as well as general recruiting.  With so many photographers at the games you would think we could find images but that's not the case.  Most photographers are focused on the action on the field with only occasional looks at what's going on in the stadium.  That coupled with the stylistic demands of some of our materials means I'll be going to my first game since the 1980's.

I hear things have changed a bit in Beaver Stadium...

Forest Science at Penn State

Tiffany, Chance, and Robbie all started at the Mont Alto campus of Penn State in the two-year Forest Technology program. They’ve decided to pursue four-year degrees in Forest Science in the School of Forest Resources at University Park.

Mont Alto has been educating foresters for more than 100 years as well as students in many other academic programs, including the agricultural sciences. Many students who start at the campus of 1,300 move on to Penn State University Park to finish their degrees.

These three students are in their first semester at University Park when I caught up to them in the new Forestry Building and they seemed to be having a great time. The Forestry Building is new and has excellent facilities for research and teaching. It’s a great place to be.
